Vision

The client approached us wanting a smart and modern space to entertain friends and family while incorporating some natural elements within the landscape.

Design Process

The final design included four distinct areas: a relaxing patio for sunbathing, an outdoor bbq, a multi-use outdoor lounge surrounding a custom concrete firepit and a hot tub. A heavy timber pergola covers both the lounge and hot tub. Two large modern planters house both plants and trees, and grass accentuates the edges behind the hot tub. Our team was excited about designing a grand vision within a small space.

Challenges

One of the biggest challenges we faced was beneath the surface. The fireplace, pergola and hot tub are all extremely heavy, so the sub-floor had to be carefully prepared to be able to sustain their weight for years to come...without warping or sinking.
