The first time someone put a cherry on top of a plain scoop of ice cream, it was special. The customer got an unexpected surprise that delighted them and made them smile.
While we don’t put cherries on our waterfalls, we do like to add little extras that take our projects to the next level. It’s paying attention to these small details that show how much we care:
- Going out of our way to grab some moss from the forest to add to a waterfall
- Finding a cool piece of driftwood to create a focal point in a garden
- Taking the time to choose the perfect stones to nestle along a spillway
While our clients might not even notice these little touches on a conscious level, their impact is enormous… when they see their completed project they are not merely happy, they are delighted.
To us, this is definitely time well spent!
Act with integrity
Integrity means behaving ethically and morally, even when no one is watching.
To us, that means not cutting corners or compromising on quality just because something might not be seen — like properly disposing of garbage instead of burying it under an installation (I know someone who was digging up old coffee cups years after the contractors left).
Understanding and connection
The best landscapers are not order-takers… they’re artists who listen carefully to their clients so they can create a landscape that speaks to their souls.
Often that means suggesting things the client may not have thought of — like installing a natural swimming pool — or helping choose the best materials and finishes to elevate the project and make it truly special.
Here’s the thing… people don’t just come to Raymar looking for a waterfall or water feature — they come because they yearn for an outdoor space where they can feel relaxed and restored.
Focus on customer service
A post about going above and beyond wouldn’t be complete without mentioning the importance of exceptional customer service.
Here too, it’s the small gestures that can elevate a client’s experience:
- Going the extra 10% to deliver more than is expected
